Turned 31 and reflecting on Life's lessons

Hello world, can we chat for a little bit?
I recently celebrated my 31st birthday and it had me reflecting on life. I know this is common with new age, so I fully immersed myself in my thoughts and allowed myself to FEEL everything I was feeling. Every birthday is special to me - and became even more special after my car accident in 2008. I took my survival to mean that I still had a purpose in this world and I've been trying my hardest to live my life with that in mind. Going for everything I want and being grateful for every day.

It still blows my mind when I think back to how I, Lizzy... me, myself and I is now a whole 31 years old. Like WOW.
A  wife, a mom, somebody's daughter and an entrepreneur. Ugh, wait... I have a problem with that last word, always have, so I still cringe a little when I use the word, but it is what I am now and that in itself is just MIND BLOWING. An entrepreneur: a person who organizes and operates a business or businesses, taking on greater than normal financial risks in order to do so. Uhh, wait, so maybe I am actually just an influencer with small entrepreneur mindset on the side. LOL

I don't know if I've shared this with you guys, but when I was growing up, did you know what my answer was to the popular questions "What do you want to be when you grow up"?
I'll tell you. My answer to that question was always "I want to be an amala seller". (Amala is a yoruba meal served hot and yummy with the perfect stew that has a bunch of meat etc on the side... My description does it no justice but I digress).

I grew up in Nigeria (born in Lagos and moved to the united states in 2004), so I grew up eating amala a lot especially from Bukas (small canteens) and so as a child, my dream was to grow up to become an amala seller - mainly because I loved the meal so much and had dreams to own a restaurant that was TOP CLASS (with AC, tons of workers, better than a small buka and known for having the best amala in town).

Of course, when it was time to go to college, amala seller was not a major I could pick or a course I could study, so I went for Nursing instead. Lol.

I graduated college with my Bachelors of Science in nursing and life began. Many years later, here I am as a full time influencer/business woman/entrepreneur!

I have learned so much over the years and I know there are more lessons to come.
I figured I'd make this post sort of a list of things I've learned over the years.

  1. Always put God first
  2. Write goals, plans and visions down. Write it down (don't care if it's on paper or a phone app, just write it down). A goal without a plan is a wish. Write things down and take action.
  3. Financial freedom is possible. Make budgets, stick to them, pay off debts, take responsibility and do better.
  4. Never get tired of learning. Learn, learn learn.
  5. Rest before your body forces you to.
  6. Health is wealth
  7. Love hard
  8. Cut off all negativity and focus on all the blessings in your life.
  9. Tomorrow isn't promised
  10. Love hard
  11. Be a giver
  12. and so much more...
Well, I think I am losing my touch on writing, so I definitely need to make more blog posts on here.
Thanks for reading, till later, God Bless.
