HIS and HERS: Wheelchair Accessible Master Closet Solution: Elfa Container Store Custom Closet

Hello World!

I am completely elated to share today's post with you all. We moved into our new space some months ago and knew immediately that we would have to do something about the master bedroom walk-in closet! I shared this back then on my youtube channel and today, I am so excited to have partnered with The Container Store Custom Closets team to bring you our fully wheelchair accessible and functional master closet! The closet is a HIS and HERS (for me and my husband) and with the help of the particular line we got - Elfa Decor, we were able to maximize the space we have.

Before we dive into the fancy customization, I want to remind you of what our closet looked like.
It was literally just this ONE Line of hanging space throughout all walls.

And now, after customization with Elfa Decor...
Here's a frontal view when you walk into our closet. The Left side is mine, and the right side is my husbands. We decided to do this so as to keep things pretty organized and visually appealing.

Our first drawer is where we put jewelry and my husband also stores his belts, watches and the likes, all thanks to Elfa Decor accessory trays

With regards to functionality, I love my High-Reach Garment Hook. It is adjustable for higher reach and also collapses. As a wheelchair user, I need to be able to reach clothes that a little bit higher than my arms can reach.

Also Love the gliding shoe rack for high heels and also for flats. The shoes stay put on these.

Our Storage divider is not to be forgotten.

For those items that I couldn't really figure out a "home" for, I was able to utilize the boxes and bins. You see in the pictures below.

I am just so happy with how much space we ended up having for everything. From my bags to all of my hanging clothing and even fold-able clothing.
