Hello world,
Today's post is one that I am sharing with hopes to help all moms-to-be or new moms out there, especially wheelchair users.
When we found out we were pregnant, I immediately went on the search for baby gadgets and things to use that would help me be the best functional mom there could be for my baby. As you guys know, I make use of a wheelchair for daily living due to spinal cord injury.
The thought of using the traditional crib for our baby during her first months made me very anxious and I just prayed that there was a better way to have baby near me at night. As you all know, babies wake up frequently at night during the first few months, and as a wheelchair mom, I knew there just had to be a better way to have baby close to me without having her on our bed. I wanted my baby close to me, but also in her own space.
Many late night internet searches later, I found out about the HALO® Bassinest®. Everything I read about it proved to me that it would be the best choice for me. I was also glad that this meant I wouldn't have to do multiple transfers unto the wheelchair at night time just to get to my baby! It was a win for me.
Well, my baby is now well over 3 months old, and I can finally share with you all that this is one of the best things we got as first time parents.
The HALO® Bassinest® Premier Series Swivel Sleeper has everything I love as a mom and my baby has spent every night since her birth in it. I love the breathable mesh design which is also a great gateway for baby to see that you are nearby whenever they wake up.
The side of the bassinest leans down and allows you to easily put baby in or bring baby out. The Base is very sturdy and the height can be adjusted. The mattress it comes with is also soft.
This also has Nightlight, Vibration/Soothing sounds/Lullabies and a Nursing timer. I will be honest and tell you that these features no longer get used as often but they sure were fun to explore in the first few weeks of being a new mom. I also love the side pockets because it allows for easy access to things I use very frequently with my baby, like her diapers, wipes and butt cream.
Additionally, we got the HALOSleep SleepSack swaddle and it's one of our faves. It's an easy swaddler that allows for the option of putting baby's hands inside of out of it. As my baby got older, she didn't like her hands being swaddled inside of it.
Needless to say, I am very happy with the HALO® Bassinest® Premier Series Swivel Sleeper and Sleepsack swaddle.
That is why I will be giving these two to one lucky winner in partnership with HALOSleep.
