Hola Darlings!!!
So, I am very excited about today's post.
As some of you know, although I don't do a lot of makeup posts, I am actually very much in love with makeup and I love to doll up my face. I try not to buy every new collection that comes out, but sometimes... as with the two items I will be showing in this post... I just HAD to get something from Macs new holiday collection - aka, the Magic Of the Night collection.
This collection had two stars in my opinion. Actually, ONE STAR if I'm being really honest. Lol...
The Highlighters were all the rave in this collection. Namely - Shaft of Gold, and Oh Darling.
These two highlighters are a beauty and can transform your everyday makeup look into va-va-voom gorgeousness.
The one everyone really wanted was Oh Darling, because it was said to be a dupe of Mac's discontinued Whisper of Guilt Highlighter. "Oh Darling" really is a beauty to behold in my opinion.
I've got a quick story to tell regarding this particular highlighter (lol). So, I went into the MAC Store to buy Oh Darling, and the gorgeous boy at the counter tried to cajole me into buying Shaft of Gold instead of Oh Darling. Granted, he was right about Shaft of Gold looking more natural on my skin, BUT, I looked right at him and said "Oh no honey, I didn't come here to play, please bring out Oh Darling".
This shade is one that I am convinced looks amazing on all skin types.
Before I bought it, I did so many google searches to find swatches on dark skins, but I couldn't find much. That was actually why I was inspired to make this post and the video you'll see below.
Oh Darling is the highlighter that everybody will notice! This is what you wear when you want the people to know you came to glow! You were born to shine dang it! Do not let anybody dim your light!
On the other hand of course is "Shaft of Gold". It too is a beauty on its own. Yes, you will get a glow, but it's more of a toned down glow.
It's like, when you face catches the right light, the glow is noticable. It's a beauty still, but it's certainly not on the same level as OH Darling in my opinion.
Now, as I stated earlier, when I went to the Mac store, I truly only went for Oh Darling.
But I found myself looking at the swatches of Shaft of Gold on my face and I had to go back to the store to pick it up. So yes, I felt like both were certainly worth it, but I already know which one I'll be reaching for more!
Once again, they are both gorgeous, as you can see in this side by side.

Bonus Tip: Oh Darling is a perfect inner eye corner highlight, You'll thank me later for this tip. LOL.
As I mentioned earlier, I loved these two Highlighters so much that I did a YouTube video showing swatches in normal room light.

Hi! This is my first time here. I just watched your YouTube vid and I have to say I go for Mac shaft of gold, simply because I have dark skin and love the radiant sun kissed look. I'm not really a heavy highlighter unless I'm going out for a divalicious evening lol. Keep bringing on the great stuff!
