DIY Easy Summer Nails: Dotticure with China Glaze Ombre - Chasing the Sun Collection
Oh Happy Day!!!
How are y'all doing loves? Hope your day is going great!
On the blog today, I have a very easy summertime mani for you all. I know this time of the year - Summer time - lots of ladies are rocking their bright colors and getting their nails diiiiiddd. Lol. I too love fun manis during the summer, and this DIYLady loves QUICK EASY to-do things. :-)
My Sally Beauty Supply had the China Glaze Ombre Collection - Called Chasing the sun on sale, and I picked up a pack and some other stuff so I could use my $10 off $20 coupon.
I immediately had the idea of doing a fun Dotticure with the polishes in this collection, as opposed to them Ombre that was pictured on the pack.
Here's what the pack looks like.
The Polishes in here are:
Left to Right: China Glaze - White on White, Sun Worshiper, Pool Party, and Flying Dragon
For this easy summer nails, I started with a two coats of White on White.
Then I Applied a little bit of the colored polishes on a stamping plate, so that I could easily dip in each color with my dotting tool - You can use a tooth pick, a bobby pin or whatever else that could be dipped as dotting tool for this step.
I actually did one color on ALL nails, so that when I cleaned the dotting tool, I used it for a new color without dipping and cleaning too many times.
I had no dot placement pattern, I just placed the dots at random.
When I got done, I added more dots where I felt there was need. As you can see, I did different sizes of dots. And I used a topcoat to even things out and seal all the dots in after they had dried a bit (MAKE SURE the dots are dry a bit before using a top coat, if not, the dots could smudge with the dragging of the topcoat brush).
In case you didn't notice, I held each bottle in the collection for a picture. Hahaha..
I LOVE the Colors on white so much!
And Since I can never leave Good enough alone, I added one coat of a polish I am currently IN LOVE WITH and want to use ALL THE TIME - It's Luxe Coat - Flawless (which is so true to its name, and I reviewed it in THIS POST with some other Luxe Coat Polishes).
Final Result Below. A little bit of bling with amazing Colors popping over white.

ReplyDeleteSo fun! I just did a dotticure of sorts on my blog today too! I also noticed the stamping plates in your pictures. I have the same ones! Do many of the stamps work for you on that image plate? A lot of mine are too shallow >< which sucks cause I really like the intricate designs.
